Aoife O’Donovan paid tribute to 2021 Kennedy Center Honoree Joan Baez with an intimate cover of Baez’s “Love Song to a Stranger.” Listen/watch here.

Aoife was asked by The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts to cover the song, from Baez’s 1972 album Come from the Shadows. 

“She is so deserving to be one of the 43rd Kennedy Center Honors. A real icon of the folk movement, the activism movement, the singer-songwriter movement. She is unparalleled and an incredible human,” said Aoife.“Here is a version of her song, ‘Love Song To A Stranger’ that in 2020 and 2021 has taken on a new meaning, as I’ve been learning this song and working up a new version of it, it has really been ringing true.”

All instruments were played by Aoife O’Donovan. The song was recorded, mixed and mastered by Darren Schneider at The Audio Temple at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida.
