For Record Store Day, The Autumn Defense and Josh Rouse will release a 7 inch split single of Fleetwood Mac related covers. The Autumn Defense will cover Bob Welch’s “Sentimental Lady” while Josh Rouse takes on Lindsey Buckingham’s classic, “Trouble.”
“Sentimental Lady has been a staple in the Autumn Defense set for quite a while,” says Stirratt from The Autumn Defense. “Pat and I both are fans of this era Fleetwood Mac and Bob Welch, and the song strikes a chord in people when we play it live.
“We thought we should record it for some purpose, and when the guys at Yep Roc suggested a split single with Josh Rouse, we thought of including it. The fact that Josh does ‘Trouble’ by Lindsay Buckingham, makes it Fleetwood Mac-centric.”
If you can’t wait until April 19 to hear the cover, you’re in luck: you can check out a video of The Autumn Defense playing “Sentimental Lady” at SXSW below or at American Songwriter.
