Today, Aoife O’Donovan shares The Apathy Sessions, a deluxe edition of her multiple GRAMMY-nominated 2022 album Age Of Apathy. Listen to The Apathy Sessions here.
Earlier this week, O’Donovan shared a cover of Sharon Van Etten’s “I Love You But I’m Lost,” included on The Apathy Sessions. Van Etten herself expressed her admiration for O’Donovan’s performance in a recent tweet.
Recorded through a unique residency with Full Sail University in Winter Park, FL, O’Donovan wrote and recorded Age Of Apathy on-site at their studio with GRAMMY-nominated engineer Darren Schneider while collaborating entirely remotely with producer Joe Henry (Bonnie Raitt, Rhiannon Giddens). Rolling Stone has called Age Of Apathy “stunning,” while Pitchfork says O’Donovan “taps into the propulsion of prime Joni Mitchell.”
Age Of Apathy is now nominated for the Best Folk Album GRAMMY as well as Best American Roots Performance and Best American Roots Song, both of those for “Prodigal Daughter” featuring Allison Russell. She’s also nominated for Best Album and Best Song at Folk Alliance International’s International Folk Music Awards.
On February 3, Aoife O’Donovan will perform on the Rachael Ray Show. This appearance follows recent television performances on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, CBS Saturday Morning, and The Kelly Clarkson Show.
